Tribe Elite Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What Sports Does Tribe Elite Participate in?

Currently we participate in Track & Field (Indoor & Outdoor), and Cross-Country Running.

What Age Groups Are Available To Compete?

In all cases, boys and girls are separated in competitions.

  • USA Track &Field and AAU normally divide their age-groups into the following age groups: (7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18).
  • In some large events AAU has been known to have competition for individual ages (e.g. 7, 8, 9, 10, etc.) not combining two ages together for one age-group.

What is the Age-Group (Age) Cut-Off, or age advancement?

Age is determined as of December 31.  At times it can get confusing for the kids as they see classmates in their same grade level compete in a different age group.  Just remember its based on the child's age on December 31.  Thus, if your child is 8 yrs old and their 9th birthday is December 20th, they must compete at the 9 & 10 yr old age group that summer. 

How Does My Athlete Join the Club?

Joining Tribe Elite Athletics beings by establishing an account with our Website. You then will accomplish the following steps:

  • Request an athletic assessment with a Tribe Elite coach. This is currently initiated by emailing info@gotribeelite.org.
  • Establishing a USA Track & Field membership at www.usatf.org and affiliating your USATF membership with our club, Our Club number is. “09-0236”.
  • You may be required to validate your athlete's age via birth certificate, drivers license, or other method requested by USATF.
  • Additional steps are required to enter Club related track or cross-country events, and can be coordinated or accomplished with the assistance of one of our coaches or managers.

Do I Have to Attend All Club Scheduled Track Meets?

Not at all.  Our schedule normally offers several track meets your athlete's have the option to participate at, or not. There are some meets identified as required qualification meets that must been attended for your athlete to advance to Region and National Championship level competitions. Questions on which meets are right for your athlete can be discussed with one of our coaches or managers in person, or please email info@gotribeelite.org.

Do I Have to Buy and Wear a Tribe Elite Uniform?

Uniform purchase or rental is not required to be a member of our club. You may wear your own athletic wear to compete in any track or cross-country event. Although, they certainly offer a feeling of inclusion, and are high quality athletic wear. Uniforms are required to participate in a club relay team. Arrangements can be made to borrow a uniform if this may not be a regular occurrence for your athlete.
